Vancouver's 'green' and locally grown Grand Floral Parade Float. The experience was indeed very wild and beautiful. In collaboration with Vancouver's Downtown Association, Tieton Homes, and Divine Consign, we used over 4,000 flowers including peonies, field-grown garden roses, lisianthus, freesia, wild rose, magnolia, foxglove, rose geranium, apple and pear branches, et cetera. I collected premature peaches from beneath trees but ultimately could not use them. We certainly could not have pulled it all together without the help of lovely volunteers who I hope to see again next year. Our float earned the prestigious Rose Festival Directors' Award - Best Depiction of Volunteerism, showcasing the remarkable effort behind this achievement. Thank to all of you who made a donation and expressed enthusiasm for Vancouver's first float in 30 years.
